OSTEOPOROSIS

Keep moving to protect your bones

Reduced bone density occurs in everyone as they get older.  In females bone density tends to fall after menopause.  Osteoporosis, which can be measured with a DEXA scan, increases the risk of fractures.  There are a number of treatments available for osteoporosis, but the most important is to keep mobile and walk for 30 minutes on at least 5 days per week.  Check the link below for information regarding Personal Health who provide Physiotherapy and other supports for people with joint and musculoskeletal problems.
